Delta National Forest

Delta National Forest spans just over 3,800 acres in Mississippi and is managed by the U.S. Forest Service as multiple-use public land. The forest offers a mix of recreation opportunities typical of National Forest land in the region, including fishing, dispersed camping, hunting, and access to trails and scenic drives. Visitors can expect a landscape characteristic of the lower Mississippi valley, with seasons shifting from warm, humid summers through mild winters. Access is generally straightforward during spring through fall, when the forest is most welcoming to recreation. Winter conditions are rarely severe enough to close the forest, though wet ground and occasional flooding can affect backcountry use.
