Fishlake National Forest

Fishlake National Forest spans nearly 736,000 acres across central Utah and offers diverse recreation across high-elevation terrain. The forest supports fishing in alpine lakes and streams, dispersed camping throughout its backcountry, and a network of trails for hiking and backpacking. Horseback riding and hunting are available seasonally, and scenic drives provide access to the landscape without leaving your vehicle.

The forest is accessible spring through fall, with summer offering the most reliable conditions and the widest range of activities. Winter brings snow at elevation, which limits road access and camping but opens the forest to snowshoeing and cross-country skiing for those prepared for cold-weather travel. Spring and fall bring unpredictable weather and variable trail conditions as snow recedes and returns. The Forest Service manages the land for multiple uses, so you'll encounter both developed facilities and remote dispersed campsites alongside active recreation areas.
