Argus Range Wilderness Area

The Argus Range Wilderness Area spans 66,571 acres of federally protected backcountry in California, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. This is primitive wilderness—no roads, motors, or mechanized travel of any kind are permitted. Visitors come here to experience genuine solitude and untracked terrain on foot.

Hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to explore the area. The landscape rewards those willing to travel without maintained trails or infrastructure.
