Beartrap Canyon Wilderness Area

Beartrap Canyon Wilderness Area is a 40-acre federally designated Wilderness in Utah, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. As a protected wilderness, it is closed to roads, motorized vehicles, and mechanized travel—this is primitive backcountry where foot travel is the only way in. The landscape here rewards hikers and backpackers seeking solitude and untrammeled terrain. Visiting means embracing Leave No Trace principles: pack out all waste, camp away from water sources, and move quietly through the landscape. Access is on foot only, and visitors should check current conditions with the BLM before heading out, as weather and seasonal factors affect passability.
