Beaver Dam (South) Wilderness Area

Beaver Dam Wilderness Area is a 6,093-acre federally protected wilderness in Arizona managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It offers primitive backcountry experience in a non-motorized setting where hiking and backpacking are the primary ways to explore the landscape. Solitude and a genuine wilderness character are central to what the area provides—this is remote country without roads, motorized access, or mechanized travel of any kind.

Visiting means embracing wilderness rules and Leave No Trace principles. There are no maintained facilities, no motors, and no mountain bikes or other mechanized equipment. Access is on foot only, and you're responsible for self-sufficiency in navigation, water, and emergency response. The area's remote nature and lack of development mean you should come prepared for true backcountry conditions and ready to pack out everything you pack in.
